jam weekend 2011

so my old roommate jamie is getting married in a few weeks so we, jann, cami, katelin, emily, jamie and myself all decided that we needed to get together, one last time before jamie took the marriage plunge.

so, we all headed to park city this weekend, since this was the only weekend that we could all get together, and the only weekend that jamie could squeeze us in.

so off to utah we went....
jann came and picked me up on saturday and we went to jamie's final dress fitting. and let me just tell you that her dress is absolutely beautiful. it is her to a t. it's darling.
then, jamie left to go to a family bridal shower, and we headed to the pool. we had a few hours to kill, so why not soak up some rays.

we headed back to katelin's house in downtown slc to get ready, and while we waited for jamie to call us, so we could head up to park city for the evening.

we finally arrived in park city and ate at a restaurant called silver.
it was delicious. and the whole ambience was really great. there was a dj, dj dolph was on the turn tables upstairs. and let me just tell you that it was one of the best dj's i've ever heard. everything he played was good. and he looked like ursher. saweet!

so we ate delicious food, and immediately headed upstairs to get our groove on.
we of course started the party. no one was dancing and then all of a sudden, we couldn't even move. it was great. lots of pictures were taken...

backtrack..while at dinner, cami bought us, for jam weekend 2011 a couple of jamie's favorite things....navy and white stripes, and red nail polish. so after a hot and sweaty dance sesh, we headed back to the house and of course, all put on our matching shirts and took a million pictures. it was hilarious. and i forgot how hilarious and great my friends are. i haven't laughed that hard in a long, long time.

then the next day, we had a late breakfast/lunch/brunch and headed to ride the alpine slide. it was great. i had such a wonderful time. and i can't believe that our little jamie is getting married. i'm extremely exited for her. she's great and amazing and she'll be a stunning bride.

anyway, here is what you've been waiting for.

Build me this.

dear future boyfriend, husband, etc...

i really like bookshelves.
i like them a lot...

so if you could just build me one that looks like these,
i'd really appreciate it. like, a lot...

this one would be amazing.

i'd easily take this one.

this would be amazing too.

oh boy oh boy...

so i've always been told,
"you're just not very creative."

well, i'm here to tell you,
i've changed all that.

but more importantly, i've just figured out how to find my creative juices.
here's how.

my roommate was throwing a baby shower for a college friend of hers last saturday. i came home from work to find pom pom balls, homemade mind you, and craft stuff everywhere.

so, i, doing what i do best when crafts come out, i sit back and watch it all be done. i can't cut, i can't fold, i can't make anything. (ie we tried to make friendship bracelets, well needless to say, mine didn't turn out. everyone else's did.)
so i just watched.

then once all the pom poms were made, and fluffed, it was time to hang. well, i'm happy to say and report, i've found my niche. i may not be able to make the crafts, but i know how to hang them and know where they go...(i'm very proud of myself!)

examples...

i hung those suckers for at least two hours. then, the one thing i can make is paper chains.
i made the paper chains like you wouldn't even believe. we then strung them up in the pom pom collage.

the rest is history....
okay not history, but here is the finished product with food and everything.
it's pretty dang cute, if i do say so myself.

these last two are edited....

i love the balloons. they were hanging in the entrance.

anyway, the baby shower turned out darling. everything was a smash hit!

also, to add a little pizazz, L rented a photobooth. quite clever, and convenient, since our friend wayne has a homemade one...
(a few shots from the photobooth)

that's wayne in the last few...

so L and C are both dating boys. and they thought it would fun to get in the photobooth and hold up the whiteboards with a message written to each of their bfs.
well, there were only two whiteboards, so we had to change each whiteboard after the picture had been taken.
so we quickly take their pictures and change out the whiteboards with no problem.

so i, having no boyfriend, decide that i'd like to take a picture the same way, but with different words, obviously.
as i get in the photobooth with my props, i can hear them plotting out something.

so i get in there and take the first three pictures, and while they were changing my
"i need a boyfriend" to something else, the last whiteboard didn't make it in time, so i improvised. (it's hilarious!)
