how come,

every time i post anything

and i change the font and color,

make the font bigger or smaller

put all the effort into making it look

somewhat "creative"

it goes back to a disgusting font and

how it comes before adjusting it.

how do i fix this?

Life...

Did you think to pray?

recently, a few things have

been on my mind. and i was unsure

what to think or who to talk to about them.

then, it hit me,

"did you think to pray?"

i immediately turned to my father in heaven

and poured my heart out to him.

it was then that i re-realized how wonderful

a relationship we can have with our father in heaven,

when we open up the lines of communication.

now, having received the answers i was looking for,

i feel comforted and at peace

knowing that everything

i had prayed for, has been answered.

and blessed that i have been

patient enough to wait for the

answers i was searching for.

i am so grateful for the knowledge that i know, so i can

turn to my heavenly father for guidance,

and he will be there to help me through anything.

we had some really good times. it was a

sad move, but a good one at least.)

"shoot" stuff continued...

Chandler Mall Shooting

"shoot" the mall...

today at work,

i was taking some ladies to their table

and happened to notice their shopping bags.

trying to make conversation, i asked if they found anything good.

they said, "oh you don't want to go over there now,

we were just evacuated. there was a shooting."

i was shocked and weirded out.

i walk back up to the host stand, looking for the manager

and see all the people exiting the mall.

we see police cars and swat cars

driving all along the frontage road.

and everyone is in shock.

we then decided, after many phone calls, to lock the doors.

we put up a sorry for the inconvenience sign and make sure no one comes in

but the patrons can exit.

we go outside and bunch of people who work at the nordstrom

are standing on our sidewalk.

we get beverages and tell them to wait inside if wanted.

then, we have a police officer tell us everyone needs to be inside,

and then the chandler mall security stops by and tells us we

no one is to enter or exit the building.

we are on mandatory lock down.

(this was around 130-145ish.)

we turn the news on, and are soon told that there is

a hostage situation at the baja fresh across the street.

most of the nordstrom employees and the firebirds employees

are all watching the news intently, trying to find out what's happening

across the street. we are lucky they didn't come into the bird.

meanwhile, since we have no walk in customers

we make some lobster queso, ranch rings and potato skins

for the nordstrom employees to munch on.

we continue to watch the news, and about an hour and half later

the hostages at baja fresh are released and the gunman is apprehended.

we think the worst part is over. luckily it kind of was.

the lock down was lifted around 330 and the customers dining leave

and the nordstrom employees stay for a bit

and then leave. all grateful for letting them stay and feed them.

needless to say, it was a very interesting day at firebirds.

we got all dolled up

in our sequin frocks.

we sure hope this night would easily rock.

we drove to the hangar

in freezing cold weather.

and walked to party

to gather together

we see people galore.

and start dancing.

hoping this party would bring us romancing

we look at the clock and

the countdown was on.

we look to our left, we look to our right

who were we going to kiss at midnight?

we see no one worthy, but we don't get depressed

it's only 1.1.11, so give it a rest.

we have plenty other nights to test out these waters.

with no one cute enough, it won't be a bother.

it became 12:30 before we knew it

and we realized that 2011

was off in good measure

it's a good thing we didn't kiss someone

that we wouldn't treasure.

to eat up some sweets.

so much for the resolution

to stop eating bad things

but...

there always tomorrow, so you can eat all you wanted

resolutions are never completed,

so don't be taunted.

out in the cold, again,

to run to the car,

heat on blast

we have to go far.

driving back to chandler

on this night of success,

it's 2011, let's get home and rest.
