get in the water...

over the fourth, i met my family at lake powell. we've been going there over the fourth for a lot of years, and this year was no different. only, darin wasn't there but decided to join in as long as he could play golf. that sounds about right. ha

i drove up thursday night, because i didn't want to drive up early friday morning. the rest of the herdsmans arrived friday afternoon. it was a long wait, but when i saw that little l babe i knew why i was so anxious for them to get there. man, i love her.

anyway, we paddle boarded and took a few scenic drives up the lake. the water wasn't the best so a lot of wake boarding didn't get done. as long as we're together, right dad?

we had yummy food, as always, and we watched cars and nemo incessantly. we know who rules our roost when she's around. that little l baby.

mom brought a lot of decorations and we partied in typical fourth of july fashion. it was matt's idea to bring "the gambler" lifesaver up front so we could include it in our pictures. good idea brother. we ended the night up on top of the gambler to watch the fireworks. l babe didn't love them too much, but the rest of us sure had a fun time playing with the camera.

as it was time to leave we cleaned and then went our separat ways. hopefully another family trip to powell is in the works. (sorry brother. you're in hawaii now.)
