Behold the Face...

This last weekend I went to Lake Powell with Doug, Gretchen, Maggie, Jamie, Katelin, Cami, Bryce, Trent, Kevin and Jacob. What a wonderful time it was. Katelin, Bryce, Kevin and Jacob had never been to Powell, so we went out on a boat ride to show them "Gunsight, Cookie Jar, Padre Bay,...etc." We did however get the chance to go up to "Face Canyon", and to also reminisce about the good times we've had there. It was fun for those who hadn't, but nevertheless, it was still a scenic route for anyone. We approach "Face Canyon" and what do we see? ROCK, EVERYWHERE. We can't even get up to the sand-hill anymore. It is ridiculous. I took some pictures so we could send them to Matt, and so I could post them on here for everyone who has been to "Face Canyon" with my family can see how traumatizing it is to see that the memories we have created there can no longer be, well, created.
No more zip lines, no more slides, no more running up to the top of the sand-hill just to run, roll, or jump down it. None of this will be possible again UNTIL we get more WATER. We are in a DROUGHT people. Lets hope we get more snow this next coming snow season, just so we can have more run off. Luckily enough, the middle channel has opened up. But driving through there its wakeless. And the water has risen about 40 feet. Which is so great...
While we were in the "Face" area we decided to take a quick trip to the "Honey Hole" Now what do you think that was like? IMPOSSIBLE to even get back in there in boat. So my friends and I, and Maggie jumped out of the boat to see if we could swim into it. Yeah right. It was a very long swim, and if anyone remembers what it was like before, with the sticks and twigs, lets just say that we could have made about 100 fires or more with all the twigs and sticks there were. But it was fun and we also got to remember where Courtney found her first LOVE with the news...

"CO AND MO TV"...

Some good memories at Lake Powell. How about we just get the water up and we'll continue them? Cool?

8 Seconds..

Last Thursday I attended the Strawberry Days Rodeo I always enjoy the Rodeo, even though everyone things, and well I am the NOT the "outdoorsy" type. I don't mind certain outdoors, but I do enjoy the Rodeo.
Now Strawberry days. What do I say? You had good strawberries but everything else lacked in comparison to the DIXIE ROUND-UP. I must say that the Lions Club really does put on a good show. And Randy the clown? What else could be better than his witty banter with the announcer? It is priceless. But the best part about the Dixie Round-Up is the company and the seats. Don't get me wrong, I loved who I went with, but we were sitting on metal bleachers. METAL BLEACHERS. For crying out loud, I bottom hurt so bad by the time we left, I was so happy it was over. The seats at the round up are larger and much more pleasant to sit on. I guess you can't beat the Sun Bowl. And then there's the company. I went with my roommates and friends, and it was great. We had a good time and enjoyed the show. But you can't beat FAMILY at the round-up. Even though we may not be "family" with everyone that goes, it is pretty dang close to it. It is always nice to know that Gretchen and Vivi and lots and lots of other people are waiting in line to get our traditional seats right off to the left of the cows, bulls and the announcer, taking up about 9 rows or something crazy like that. The Dixie Round-Up is an experience I think that everyone should experience. Good times, good food, good people. Life couldn't get any better...

3 MONTHS TILL THE DIXIE ROUND-UP...

Oh and Pictures will be coming soon....

Livin' Aloha... For a week at least

I've just returned from our lovely vacation in Hawaii.  And what a lovely trip it was.  I got to see a lot of my friends.  Mainly Kennedy.  She was there visiting both her sisters and I was so happy to see her.  We went to Waimea Beach and jumped of the Rock.  It was quite a good time.  We waited for Courtney to jump, and she took so long to jump.  When she did, she landed so hard on her bottom, she bruised her tailbone.  She was in pain for the rest of the trip.  Just like Courtney, to be hurt at the beginning of the trip.  But she survived.  Along with jumping of Waimea Rock, we went to Waimea Falls.  It was so fun.  We had never been there. I know, it is surprising that Dad had never been there. His second residency is Kaukuhu  The only person who had been there was my mom and she had been there with the "traveling team".  I'm just wondering, where can I sign up to be apart of the traveling team?

We sat out by the pool and the beach.  We soaked up the sun, and just baked.  We did this on behalf of Chelsi.  Who LOVED the sun.  I cooked in the sun and loved every minute of it.  We had a BBQ with my friends on Monday, and went into Honolulu on Wednesday.  Let's just say that our trip was pretty good.  I always enjoy going to Hawaii with my family and I love Hawaii.
