Halloween Costumes

I love love love Halloween, and this year I want to have an amazing costume. Something that tops last years costumes. I need some help, pronto. I really want to paint my skin, so I become a different color, like black, mexican or something like that. Make sense? I have a few different options...Ready?

1. Michelle Obama

2. Lil' Kim ( Yes she is scandalous)

3. Or there was a dance on So You Think You Can Dance: Chelsie Hightower did a contemporary dance and her costume was GREAT. The only downfall to this costume is I don't know what I would say if people asked what I was...HELP...

Here is the video if this helps more with the idea I'm trying to go for....

St. George...

What can I say about St. George? That I love it down there or that it is so hot that I want to fry an egg on the sidewalk? Yeah I could say those things, though nothing can compare to those things, but the Washington County Fair comes in a close second. Can we please talk about it? Holy cow I forgot how much fun the fair can be. I know it was a couple weeks ago, but the fair has always been one of those things that you just know you HAVE to go to. Even when you're old and unwed like me.
So here's the skinny, I came down to St. George with Ashlee Patten, Kelsey Jensen and the one and only Clark Kelsey. Poor Clark was so upset the whole way down because we were all reading. Kelsey didn't have "Breaking Dawn" at this point, but she was wishing she had. So we all read, and Ashlee and I compared notes on it and discussed how much we love/hate (more hate) this lame book. Anyway, got to St. George and just chilled, where else can you do this? Only St. George. But the girls had all planned that we were going to lay out at my house the next day, while we waited for Brett Beatty, Tanner Capua and Kyle Fillmore to come down. They are my friends from Provo. Well we get together, and start basking in the sun, Ashlee points out that we are all reading "Breaking Dawn". So of course what else can you do? Hello, document it with a photo.

We lay out and have a real good time. Soak up the sun, and then that night we hang with the boys. 3 boys, 3 girls. What else could you ask for? Nothing really. It was just Jensen, Patten, Glendenning, Fillmore, Capua, and Beatty. 6 peas in a pod. Okay not really, because there are only 3 peas in a pod, but you get the analogy. We show the boys a good ole' St. George time. We or they took us to Sand Hallow to "cliff jump", but of course you have to swim to the rocks to jump off of so we made a pit stop at Wally World.

Well can I just tell you how much I hate Wal-Mart? The lines, the whole experience isn't that good. So get this, we go and pick out these mattresses to swim on, and they are like $1.88 but with tax they end up being $2.00. So I pay for mine, I didn't want the bag because I wanted to GO GREEN so I just held mine. Then I kept playing with the receipt, folding it and what not, so I was like freak I don't want this receipt it is just going to make a mess in my bag, so I threw it away. WRONG-O. Now I know why the give you a freakin receipt. We start to walk out and guess who they won't let exit? ME!!!! They actually thought I had stolen the mattress that I just spent a whopping 2 dollars on. I had to walk back to the trash can and find my receipt. Luckily I had been folding it, it was sitting pretty right on top. Gee what a waste of time. I was so annoyed. Now I know why I AVOID Wal-Mart like the plague. I got out of there alive, barely...

We made it to Sand Hollow, and guess whose freakin mattress wouldn't blow up? MINE. Talk about karma. Hence ANOTHER reason why I HATE Wal-Mart. Not quality at all. LAME.

We finally make it to the fair part of this. I'm sure you're thinking "finally"... But the fair was amazing.

"3 T" city. It was great. So the boys are being gay and don't want to go on any rides. We are at a fair, you have to at least ride a couple of rides. Well PATTEN wants to ride the Zipper and of course I do too. Ash and I get on the zipper, we are screaming and yelling and laughing so hard, and all of a sudden we start spinning. (And for a little background, before we get on the Zipper, Ashlee proceeds to tell us that this one time on the Zipper the ride got caught, and there was a couple on their first date and they kept spinning round and round and they never stopped, they eventually threw up all over each other. Talk about a first date.) So Ashlee and I are spinning, and we spun around A LOT. Close to 800 times (Exaggeration). We thought that we were going to end up like the first date couple. We look at each other and are both at a loss for words and speech in general. After laughing and yelling and screaming, we were DROP DEAD SILENT. We were laughing so hard after we were crying. I literally had tears falling down my cheeks. But if you know me, that is nothing new. But seriously, this was the greatest ride ever. No words describe how we both felt. And any other ride will pale in comparison to the Zipper. We also went on the Gee Whiz, which is also a very fun ride. But the Zipper changed my life....

It was a very fun weekend with Patten, Jensen, Fillmore, Beatty, Capua and Glendenning. We had a very fun time doing lots of fun things...

I bet everyone now wishes that they would have SPUN around on the Zipper...

DIETS...WHAT A WASTE

Recently I started doing this diet called "The Weight Loss Cure 'THEY' Don't Want You to Know About" It is written by Kevin Trudeau. It is a very interesting book, even if you aren't going to do the diet. It has some very interesting points. A little bit about this diet is you have to have a doctor supervise you. And my roommate Lauren's dad prescribed it to me. So here's the skinny, literally....
I inject myself with a shot every morning and inside the syringe is a hormone called hCG. It is released in pregnant women and it helps release the fat reserve in the body. So right now, my body is reshaping and my metabolism is re-starting you could say. For the first two days I gorged on whatever. Cookies, candy, Cafe Rio, Pizza, you name it, I ate it. And it was incredible. Then after the first two days I start a new phase.
Phase 2.
I eat 500 calories a day, and the hCG releases about 1500 more. So I'm not hungry. I can eat only a few fruits, Apple, Grapefruit, or Strawberries. And I only eat a few meats as well. The book gave me a list, but I eat Chicken, Sirloin, and Hamburger meat. I have to weigh the meat out, and it can only be 100 grams. I also eat lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, and I use spices to flavor everything. One catch...EVERYTHING HAS TO BE ORGANIC. Shampoo, Conditioner, toothpaste, body wash. That's right, it has to be organic. It wasn't too hard to find places that have organic things. This being the upside of living really close to Salt Lake. They have a Whole Foods, which is an organic grocer. Very nice right? So I started doing this July 7th and I ended August 3rd. The catch with this diet is that you have to go a minimum of 21 days and a maximum of 45 days. No less, no more. And these days consist of the 500 calories and injecting the shot everyday. I went a few more days, about 5 days longer. I wasn't where I wanted to be. But then I wasn't losing any so I figured why starve myself when I can be eating delicious foods?
Maintenance:
I still eat everything organic, but I can start adding in bread and stuff. But not just any kind of bread. It has to be sprouted bread, and not made with flour or any kind of sugar or gluten. But anything I eat CAN'T contain High Fructose Corn Syrup, Starch of sugar. I started maintenance yesterday, August 6th. The food may not be what everyone else in my house eats, but what I do have it the most amazing thing ever. I can't even begin to tell you what it felt like having cereal, and a piece of toast. Oh and the bread and cereal is by the brand ezekiel. And NO NOT the clothing company. I can have fruits, but no grapes or bananas. They have too much sugar and have starch. And no beans, carrots, and corn.
Seriously read the book. It is so neat what this diet has done for me and I've seen the results in other people as well. But mostly I've noticed a difference in myself. It is cool guys, seriously.

***See if you guys can see a difference...

Everybody Loves Free Things...

Every Thursday, the city of Salt Lake has a free concert. It is at the Gallivan Center on Main Street. They are a very good time. About 2 weeks ago I went and the bands The Cool Kids, and De La Soul were playing. They are hip hop/rap artist, so let's just say that the crowd that they brought were quite "gangster". We started out in the middle, and it is horrible because everyone I go with is about 5'9" tall and they can see over EVERYONE. Don't you know that when you're friends with little people you have to be prepared to stand a little closer to the stage?
So anyway, I ended up standing on a cooler and then I was taller than everyone and I LOVED it. There was so much more air up there. It was incredible. Not musky, sweaty, or hot either. Just fresh clean air. But the concert was so good, and I had so much fun. I went with Kelsey Jensen, Lindsay Wells, Trent Rohner, Dave Challis, Brett Beatty, Kyle Fillmore, Forest Anthony and Lindsay's friend Brittany. We had a really good time, and we danced and found people who were drunk. It was amazing. Then afterwards we tried to find fireworks, considering it was the 24th of July. But we missed them. But on the up side we ended up getting a picture with a member of the Cool Kids. His name is Mikey.
It was a very enjoyable time and I will continue to go until they are over. Wahoo...

***So I can't upload any of the pictures, which is so lame, because I took them from a friend. I'll figure out how to do it then I'll post them....

California Dreamin...

Last weekend I went down to California for one of my many roommates wedding. Seriously, this wedding was great. My roommate (former now obviously) Kennedy got married (finally) to Christian Clayton, who happens to be my present roommate Cami's cousin. (And yes his father is L. Whitney Clayton). Anyway that isn't the point. The thing I LOVE about Kennedy and Christian is that us 3 (THIRD WHEEL? HOW UNUSUAL) can go and have the best time together. We'll go to lunch and they aren't the kind of couple that will have a tag a long and be totally pissed about it, they embrace it. Including me in everything. I can't wait for them to get back up here. I'm counting down the days actually.

Besides the wedding, I stayed at Katelin's house. It was very nice. She lives in Tustin, California. We went to the Sawdust festival in Laguna and got some really good things. We went to two movies, Batman and Mamma Mia!. And might I add that Heath Ledger did an AMAZING JOB. I can't even begin to describe how well he did. We also hung out at the Irvine Spectrum and had a real good time. I had a very good weekend in California, and long for a time when I can go back. One day I'll head back there...And it will be for more than 5 days.
We didn't take too many pictures, but the one we did was priceless. We were in Laguna and there was a couple taking engagement shots. And also there were 3 other girls that were taking these shots with her. And occasionally the fiance would hop in the picture. The one getting married was the only girl NOT wearing sunglasses. So the photographer looks at me, because I WAS wearing sunglass and always do, grabbed them off my face and said that she was going to borrow them. Yeah right. What if I had a rare eye disease where I couldn't go outside without sunglass? That could have been very dangerous. Well luckily enough for him and myself I DON'T have rare eye disease, but still, who takes someone's sunglasses off their face. Really? Anyway, the photographer took this picture of Katelin and I. Classic.

"Bond" Fires...

Just the past few days, I've made a change. I figure that I won't be able to do this kind of thing forever. This thing that I can't do forever is hang out with my friends. This whole summer I've been going to bed super early, like 11:30 p.m. every night. The only reason why I do this is because I have to get up early on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings for work. It is such a bust. Not work, but going to bed early. So this last week I've been going out and socializing with friends. It is quite nice. I've forgotten how much I've missed it.
It all started on Tuesday. I went to Dollar Scoop at Baskin Robbins. $1.07 for a scoop of ice cream. It is pure bliss. Anyway, after that I went over to my friends Trent and Bryce's house and they had a "camp fire" in their front yard. We lit off a few fireworks, and I came home and didn't get to bed until late. I was actually okay with it. Then I did it again the next night. But this time we all "bonded" and then called it a "Bond" Fire. It was nice.
Now I feel like the oldest person alive. I sound like an old cat lady. I would have said a married person, but we all know that that term doesn't exist for me right now. Obviously. But nevertheless, I forgot how much fun I like being social and being around good friends.

Behold the Face...

This last weekend I went to Lake Powell with Doug, Gretchen, Maggie, Jamie, Katelin, Cami, Bryce, Trent, Kevin and Jacob. What a wonderful time it was. Katelin, Bryce, Kevin and Jacob had never been to Powell, so we went out on a boat ride to show them "Gunsight, Cookie Jar, Padre Bay,...etc." We did however get the chance to go up to "Face Canyon", and to also reminisce about the good times we've had there. It was fun for those who hadn't, but nevertheless, it was still a scenic route for anyone. We approach "Face Canyon" and what do we see? ROCK, EVERYWHERE. We can't even get up to the sand-hill anymore. It is ridiculous. I took some pictures so we could send them to Matt, and so I could post them on here for everyone who has been to "Face Canyon" with my family can see how traumatizing it is to see that the memories we have created there can no longer be, well, created.
No more zip lines, no more slides, no more running up to the top of the sand-hill just to run, roll, or jump down it. None of this will be possible again UNTIL we get more WATER. We are in a DROUGHT people. Lets hope we get more snow this next coming snow season, just so we can have more run off. Luckily enough, the middle channel has opened up. But driving through there its wakeless. And the water has risen about 40 feet. Which is so great...
While we were in the "Face" area we decided to take a quick trip to the "Honey Hole" Now what do you think that was like? IMPOSSIBLE to even get back in there in boat. So my friends and I, and Maggie jumped out of the boat to see if we could swim into it. Yeah right. It was a very long swim, and if anyone remembers what it was like before, with the sticks and twigs, lets just say that we could have made about 100 fires or more with all the twigs and sticks there were. But it was fun and we also got to remember where Courtney found her first LOVE with the news...

"CO AND MO TV"...

Some good memories at Lake Powell. How about we just get the water up and we'll continue them? Cool?
